Buzz Masters was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, while her mother was running the Hyde Park Playhouse, and was raised between upstate New York and Provincetown, Massachusetts.

For a number of years she moved between Iowa and New Mexico, plastered walls in Italy, and for about 20 minutes thought of being a Russian Lit minor in college. She has worked as a coat check girl, an editor, a corn de-tassler, a receptionist, a historical guide at the Hoover Dam, a gallery manager, a gallery owner, and has been fired from every waitressing job she has ever had for mixing up orders and then bursting into tears.

She now lives happily on an island off the coast of Maine, in a house in the woods, built by some of her favorite people. She loves her daughter, her dogs, iceberg lettuce, traveling in Italy, gardening, and randomly mowing her lawn.

Her main career is as an artist but when not in her studio, and recognizing the privilege of living on the remarkable island of Deer Isle, she serves her community as an AEMT with Memorial Ambulance and is dedicated to their Community Paramedicine program.

Her favorite flower is the Tulip.
